Europa
The work is an reaction to the current situation the UK and the European Union finds its self in, after the UK’s vote to leave the EU and its subsequent negotiations around its future relationship. Europa is based around the classical tale of Europa and Jupiter or The rape of Europa as told by Ovid in Metamorphoses.
The narrative begins whole, however gradually certain letters have been removed from the text, resulting in the tale becoming harder to both read and understand, eventually becoming unintelligible. This mirrors the confusion around Brexit and the uncertainty of the future facing the UK and of its relationship with the EU.
